As chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus for 2013-2014, she is focused on the Building a Healthier Georgia initiative, which addresses the state's economy, healthcare, education reform and transparency in government. In recent years, Sen. Tate co-sponsored the Georgia laws creating the Martin Luther King Jr. Advisory Council, as well as legislation to strengthen regulations for day care and early learning centers.
