Continuing the legacy of her pioneering father, Horacena Tate's life has been centered on service to her community. Her 10 years in the State Senate have been dedicated to improving public schools, expanding and improving healthcare for children and seniors and making our community a place we're proud to call home.

Sen. Tate is an active member of the Cascade United Methodist church and the United Methodist Women Group. She has received awards from the Coalition on Hunger, the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Merchant Association, the National Association of Social Workers, Southwest Hospital and the Atlanta Job Corps.
